DSi to reach Europe by next autumn

So says Satoru Iwata himself.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed the DSi will reach countries outside of Japan in 2009.

Speaking to Reuters he said, "Specific plans will be unveiled by our local subsidiaries, but an autumn or year-end launch would probably be too late."

Which would suggest the new model DS will be here by summer's end. In fact, just a few weeks ago, Nintendo told us a "spring 2009" release is on the cards for Europe.

If you live in Japan, lucky you - the DSi is launching there tomorrow. Take a look at the pics in our gallery, why don't you?
