DSi breaks half-a-million in a month

Japanese November sales are sky high.

The Japanese have lapped up more than 500,000 DSi units during the launch month of November.

The exact figure is 535,379, according to Famitsu (read by Kotaku).

Media Create numbers (via NeoGAF) put that near to the lifetime Japanese sales of Xbox 360, which stand at 771,409.

Launched in Japan on 1st November, the DSi introduced an integrated camera, bigger screens and an SD memory card slot to store downloadable DSiWare games.

This meant the removal of GBA backwards compatibility, a slot which is also essential for the Guitar Hero: On Tour grip peripheral.

We won't get the DSi here until spring 2009, and we suggest holding off importing until then.
