The doors to the Eurogamer Expo 2010 have opened, and through them a queue of 3000 people has stampeded inside in just 45 minutes.

Alex Hancock and Samuel Steele were first in line. They had been queuing since 2am in the cold London morning.

Hancock, shivering, admitted "we don't have much common sense". "I've kind of got disco-leg going on."

"At first it was quite nice - I got free tea," he added.

Hancock and Steele had the option of sleep but chose to tough it out. They're very excited and want to play Fable III and Gears of War 3.

For his courage, Alex Hancock was awarded a copy of FIFA 11 courtesy of HMV. He and Steele and three other early queuers also bagged themselves a FIFA 11 t-shirt.

The rest of the thousand-strong line were involved in shouting out the game they had come to see at the Eurogamer Expo 2010. They made a lot of noise. Johnny Minkley was even presented by a Minkley-themed bottle of hot sauce by an admiring fan.
