Dead End Job looks like a 2D Luigi's Mansion

And it's playable at Rezzed later this month.

There's a new twin-stick shooter coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One early next year, but before you go running at the prospect of another twin-stick shooter it's worth knowing that this one's a little different.

Dead End Job is the work of ex-Rockstar Games lead designer Tony Gowland, who previously worked on the likes of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, and his studio Ant Workshop, and it's a procedurally generated twin-stick shooter in which you're hoovering up ghosts in your line of work for paranormal pest control. There's a push and pull to the combat that's nicely tuned and is more than a little reminiscent of Luigi's Mansion - which is no bad thing, really. Have a look at it in action in the short trailer below.

Dead End Job is also going to feature music from Gowland's fellow ex-Rockstar veteran Will Morton, and it'll have Twitch integration that'll allow viewers to interact with streamers as they play by choosing which power-ups appear. It's also going to be making its proper debut at EGX Rezzed later this month, which I've heard might be a good time. I would say that, of course, given that it's an event run by our sister company - just as I'd point you towards where to get tickets for the show that runs from March 30th to April 1st. I'm just awful like that.
