Bloodborne - Laboratory Floor 2, Saint Adeline, Blood of Adeline, raising the staircase

How to survive Laboratory Floor 2 in Bloodborne's DLC.

This article explains how to survive Laboratory Floor 2 in Bloodborne: The New Hunters.

If you're interested in more advice, our complete Bloodborne walkthrough and for the DLC our The Old Hunters guide and walkthrough can help.

With the (botanically-inclined) brain creature behind you, move forward along the balcony. Be wary of the sobbing blob ahead, however - as you near, it will attack. This brain creature variant is a little feistier than its brethren, capable of leaping high into the air before slamming back down to earth. Despite its ferocity, however, the creature won't take more than a couple of hits to defeat. When it's down, grab the Frenzied Coldblood (9) from the corpse at the end of the balcony.

Grab the Decorative Old Hunter gear

Retrace your steps along the walkway and head through the door marked 'Laboratory Floor 2' to the right. On the other side, you'll immediately be ambushed by two more frenzied brain creatures, so be ready to dodge their attacks. When it's safe to proceed, grab the Decorative Old Hunter Garb and Decorative Old Hunter Trousers from the body at the back of the room then climb the stone steps to the right. At the top, ascend the metal ladder to the left.

You'll emerge back in the elevator room from a little earlier. Approach the elevator on the left-hand side of the room (opposite the one you used previously) and pull the lever to summon it. Once it arrives, step inside and descend to the lower level. At the bottom, enter the room ahead and approach the figure bound to the chair on the left. Speak with Saint Adeline (as the creature is known) and she'll request that you bring her some Brain Fluid.

Seeing as you already have one batch of Brain Fluid in your inventory, you'll be presented with the option to Give Brain Fluid. Hand over the goods and accept Adeline's offer in order to receive the Blood of Adeline. There are two more batches of Brain Fluid to find to complete this quest so remember Adeline's location for later. When you're done, pass through the door on the other side of the room, emerging back out onto the ground floor of the Research Hall.

Now that you've unlocked another shortcut to the Research Hall lamp, retrace your steps and use the elevator again. When it comes to a halt, step out and take the lift opposite up to the highest balcony in the tower. Out on the balcony, climb the steps directly ahead then, once you reach the small central platform, make your way up the steps to the right. Take out the drip-wielding creature at the top then climb the ladder at the end of the platform.

Kill the crow in the belfry

Once you reach the belfry, step out onto the rafters and take a left. Take another left at the second beam, pushing forward toward the glowing object. Stop once you reach the junction, then inch closer to the item. As you draw near, a crow will drop from above. You'll need to be extremely careful while fighting the crow, as it's easy to lose your balance on the narrow beams (particularly if you're locked onto your target) - and it's a long way down! Consider using a ranged weapon to deal with the crow then, once it's dead, grab the Great One's Wisdom from the corpse nearby.

You'll also find two rats patrolling the rafters which, by now, will likely be heading directly toward you. Your next destination is the illuminated window on the far wall. You can either aggro the rats so that they give chase (fighting them on the balcony beneath the window), or you can simply snake across the beams to give them the slip.

Once you're beneath the window, speak with the brain creature bashing his head against the wall. Next, take a right along the platform and eliminate the crows in your path. Finally, grab the Blood Stone Chunk from the corpse at the end of the platform.

Cross back over the beams and use the small ramp to reach the octagonal platform in the middle of the room. Once you're safely positioned, locate the pole sticking out of the central column and interact with it, causing the entire staircase to rise into the air. Once the column has finished rising, head right, moving away from the window toward the far side of the room.

Find the second batch of Brain Fluid for Saint Adeline

Walk along the wooden beam and take a left at the second cross section, continuing on toward the small platform ahead. You'll find another pulsating brain creature here - so hit it to retrieve the second batch of Brain Fluid for Saint Adeline.

To get down from your new, extra-high vantage point, return to the central platform then walk along the beam to the left, moving toward the windows. Deal with the crow at the end of the beam then drop back down to the platform below.

From here, follow the long beam behind the brain creature back toward the other side of the room. Note, however, that the ladder you originally climbed to reach this area is now inaccessible. Turn onto the third beam to the right and drop down on the platform below. Once you land, note the ladder leading back to the very top of the belfry, should you need to return.
