Bit.Trip Saga announced for 3DS

Hit indie series bundled up for retail.

All six games in the Bit.Trip series are being compiled onto one 3DS retail cart, publisher Aksys Games has announced.

Titled Bit.Trip Saga, it will include Bit.Trip Beat, Core, Void, Runner, Fate and Flux, all rendered in full 3D.

"Experience the crushing difficulty of the rhythmic galaxies and ride along the long journey with CommanderVideo as he completes his mission and returns... home," read the official PR.

For those unfamiliar with the Gaijin-developed games, each title is furiously hard, rhythm-centric update on a classic game genre. Beat gave Pong a makeover, Core was a riff on vintage arcaders like Asteroids, Void took on bullet-hell shooters, and so on.

There's no word yet on exactly when the title will see release.

The series started out as a WiiWare exclusive in 2009, though a number of the games have since appeared on PC and iOS devices too.

The most recent entry in the franchise, Bit.Trip Flux, launched in March, scoring 7/10 from Eurogamer's Kristan Reed. Check out the trailer below.
