EA's 2010 FIFA World Cup has made a fleeting appearance in the Japanese software chart this week.

Media Create put the PS3 version in 10th with a total of 10,000 sales. The PSP version entered 20th; the Xbox 360 SKU didn't show at all.

This week's (ending 16th May) top four was unchanged. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 (DS) was first with 126,000 sales; Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) was second with 63,000 sales; New Super Mario Bros. Wii was third with 19,000 sales; and Friend Collection (DS) was fourth with 16,000 sales.

Note the dramatic drop-off in figures.

New PSP game Hakuouki: Yuugi Roku was fifth with 15,000.

Mario Kart Wii, Nier Replicant, Wii Fit Plus, Super Street Fighter IV and 2010 FIFA World Cup rounded out the top 10.

In the hardware chart, DS held strong as all three models combined to sell 28,564 units. PSP wasn't far behind with 25,346 sales, although only 871 of those were for PSPgo.

PS3 outshone Wii this week with 20,463 sales to 17,570. And the Xbox 360 put in a slightly better performance with 4370 sales. A slowly fading PS2 was last with 1293 sales.
