Titanfall adds in-game currency, ability to buy Burn Card packs

"We have stated several times that Titanfall will not have micro-transactions."

A fresh Titanfall update will add a new in-game currency and Black Market, where you can spend credits on booster packs of game-changing Burn Cards.

Various types of Burn Card packs will be available - tailored to your need. You can also buy cosmetic insignias for your Titan.

Pre-empting fears that micro-transactions will be added next, Titanfall developer Respawn has again stated that it has no plans to let you spend real-world money in the game.

"With the introduction of an in-game currency, some may worry that the next step is that we will let players spend real-world money to get an edge in the game," designer David Shaver wrote in a new blog post.

"We have stated several times that Titanfall will not have micro-transactions. Fear not, for we plan to keep that promise - NO MICROTRANSACTIONS! The only way to get Credits is by playing the game!"

Instead, you'll be able to earn credits by winning matches, completing matches, from your first victory of the day, completing daily challenges, selling Burn Cards and from being level 50 (where some of your XP is converted into credits).

More items will be available using credits in the future, Respawn concluded, but it couldn't say yet which will be made available.
