Zavvi's Limited Edition of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection - what used to be the PlayStation 3 exclusive Ultimate Edition before it mysteriously disappeared - is available to pre-order now. It costs Ł69.99.

The Limited Edition is a Zavvi exclusive for the UK and Europe. 6000 copies of the PS3 version and 4000 copies of the Xbox 360 version are available for pre-order. In total 8000 (PS3) and 5000 (360) units are being made worldwide.

Last month Zavvi announced it had altered the contents of the Metal Gear Solid HD Ultimate Edition set, which it advertised in August.

The set was originally announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive including a copy of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, a download code for Metal Gear Solid 1 and five exclusive art cards.

That offer disappeared from the site without explanation from either publisher Konami or Zavvi.

You now get the following alongside a copy of the game:

  • Variant Metal Gear Solid steel book
  • Exclusive Metal Gear Solid T-shirt
  • Exclusive 250 page premium art book showcasing the artwork of Yoshi Shinkawa
