Empire Earth developer Stainless Steel has announced Empires: Dawn of the Moden World, its first historical RTS game since it signed a lucrative publishing deal with Activision in December.

Dawn of the Modern World will focus on the last 1,000 years of history, and the game's lead designer is none other than Stainless president Rick Goodman. "It's like no other historical RTS game that's ever been done before," he said on Friday. "Players will be able to build up massive empires by utilizing each civilization's totally unique and distinct historical abilities, battlefield weapons, and special technologies. The differentiation between these historically based civilizations is really unprecedented."
