Unsurprisingly, given the success of Silent Assassin, IO Interactive is working on a third Hitman title, due out next year, according to reports.

However the Screen Daily story which broke the news was actually dealing with the question of a Hitman movie, something publisher Eidos is apparently negotiating with a Hollywood studio. Obviously Paramount is in the frame, since Eidos has already collaborated with them on Tomb Raider's big-screen outing.

"It's not a question of whether or not we are going to Hollywood, only of when," IO's financial director Morten Borum told local press, with no small amount of pomposity we might add. He'd make a good target for 47. "We are very selective with who we are talking to in regards to the film," he added.

Screen Daily then revealed that Hitman 3 is in development with a budget of DKK300m, or €40m.

Eidos has yet to announce anything with regards to Hitman 3, or a Hitman movie.
