Stupid Invasion

All the latest news on Stupid Invaders - new demo, new release date, new website...

Probably the most promising looking adventure game due in the run-up to Christmas is not Lucas Art's "Escape From Monkey Island" (there's only so many times you can laugh at a rubber chicken) but Xilam's "Stupid Invaders". Based around the hilarious exploits of the eponymous dumb aliens, and featuring the vocal talents of actors better known for their work on cult television shows like "Ren & Stimpy", "The Simpsons" and "Futurama", Stupid Invaders is certainly looking a real treat for PC and Dreamcast owners alike.

Sadly publishers UbiSoft have some bad news for us, as the game's UK release has been pushed back a couple of weeks to November 10th, but to make up for it they have released a massive new 100Mb playable demo of the game featuring "a sitar-accompanied hall of toilets, the mighty dung tower and the infamous fart-machine room". I see... Anyway, if that isn't enough to keep you busy for the next few weeks, then the new "Inside Stupid Invaders" website is also well worth a look, taking a look at how the game was developed, from story to storyboards to (almost) finished product, and including some random thoughts from producer Sebastien Hamon.
