With the imminent release of Deus Ex here in Europe, many people have forgotten that Ion Storm have another promising looking RPG in the works - the Quake 2 engined "Anachronox", produced by a team led by the mad brain that is Tom Hall. In an interview on TechExtreme Andrew Thomas, one of Tom's minions, reported that "development is coming along great".

"Our battle system is fun and kinetic. The cinematics are on par with any Hollywood film, and I'm not exaggerating. The storyline is truly unique with tons of twists and turns that you never see coming (straight out of Tom Hall's wacky mind). The dialogue is very sharp and extremely funny. I find myself laughing out loud at several spots in the game, and yet it never feels like a comedy. I have to say, this is one of the most promising titles I have ever been fortunate enough to work on, and it just keeps getting better. As far as any official release date, you will have to bug the guys at Eidos for that."

The latest word from Eidos is to expect the game to be released in the UK some time this autumn - check EuroGamer's UK release schedule for all the latest release information.
