Clusterball announced

is the first in a series of net-based games to come from Swedish developer Daydream Software. Described by them as a "wild, future sport game where several players, anywhere in the world, can connect and compete against each other", the idea of this 3D accelerated game is to fly around grabbing balls and dragging chains of them through goal rings to score.

Daydream claim the game is playable even over a 9.6kbps modem, which is good news for those of us with a laptop and mobile phone. The "base version" of the game will be released for free on July 17th, and weighs in at just 14Mb. For more information and screenshots, or to fill out a registration form to sign up for the game and its worldwide rankings system, check the Clusterball website.
