ID slams doors on DOOM III

The roller coaster that is ID software took another loop the loop today with the news from the ID boss Todd Hollenshead that ID has formally announced DOOM III and locked down the company to journalists. No one from ID shall be allowed say a word to anyone from the press in typical ID style.

"We expect to once again dramatically advance first-person gaming both technically and artistically with this title," said Hollenshead. "Other than that, id does not plan on issuing additional comments until the game is ready to speak for itself."

Doom is still THE first person shooter. It was the game that set the world alight and set ID on the road to where they are today. But you have to ask if all is well inside ID when different sides are saying different things. We can only wait and see.
