For those of you looking to stress test your system with Quake 3, Manta has recorded a crusher demo for the game, featuring thirty players duking it out on Q3DM1 during one of Barrysworld's "megagames".

Randy informed us that I.am/Q3A has been updated to include the 100 new commands and variables included in the retail version of the game. Each command or variable's purpose and use is explained, along with examples where appropriate, and they are all available in one complete alphabetical list, or in handy categorized lists.

Quake 3 World has posted a Server Administration FAQ, which should answer any question you have about putting up your own server.

A new version of Servarena has been released (version 1.20), Servarena is a Win32 application capable of running on any PC that supports the Win32 build of Quake III Arena.

A new mod has been released which implements the instagib game type in Quake 3. All items are removed, each player is given a railgun, each shot is lethal. All game modes are supported (ffa, tourney, single player, ctf). You can grab it here.
