Amen To Amen

have announced that their first person shooter "Amen : The Awakening" has been cancelled.

Amen looked fairly impressive when it was first announced, but it has been in development limbo for months, and apart from a handful of screenshots very little was known about it. The entire level design team was recently let go as Cavedog admitted the rest of the team was behind schedule, and it looks like the problems finally caught up with the game.

The press release goes on to say that this "will allow Cavedog Entertainment to successfully grow its better-established brands and provide an opportunity to create highly anticipated products, such as Total Annihilation 2". They also talk a lot about the Boneyards, an online gaming system that allows Total Annihilation and Kingdoms players to take part in massive online wars.

Anyone want to bet that Cavedog are planning a massively multiplayer real time strategy game? We can but hope...
