Angry Birds tops PSN charts
Smartphone smash triumphs on consoles.Smartphone phenomenon Angry Birds has made a very successful hop over to consoles, topping the PlayStation Network chart in its first month on sales.
As revealed in the latest episode of Pulse, hosted on the PlayStation Blog, the Rovio-developed puzzle smash beat out Tetris, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and Mass Effect 2 to take the top spot.
Here's the full run-down:
- Angry Birds
- Tetris
- X-Men
- Pac-Man Championship Edition DX
- Final Fantasy VII
- Wheel of Fortune
- Marvel vs Capcom 2
- Mass Effect 2
- Castle Crashers
- Risk Factions
It's worth noting that the game is playable on both PlayStation 3 and as a PSP Mini, no doubt boosting its sales tally.
The next platform in its sights is the Nintendo 3DS, with a release planned later this year through the new handheld's eStore.
