Aero-Cross is next Namco Generations title

Ancient arcader Metro-Cross revived.

Metro-Cross is the next vintage IP to get the Namco Generations treatment, following Pac-Man Championship Edition DX and Galaga Legions DX.

Re-dubbed Aero-Cross and currently in development for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, the game casts you as a futuristic athlete attempting to beat other runners round various hazard-strewn courses.

You'll need to slip-stream behind other runners to pick up speed, perform "air dashes" to complete long jumps, jump on a hoverboard for extra speed or hit jump pads to avoid hazards in the track.

The original game arrived in arcades way back in 1985, and saw an Xbox 360 re-release in 2009 as part of the Namco Museum Virtual Arcade collection.

A release date for the revamp hasn't been confirmed yet, and there's no sight of a trailer either. That said, if those Pac-Man and Galaga re-inventions are anything to go by, you'd better stock up on the Panadol.

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX won a perfect 10/10 last year. Galaga Legions, on the other hand, is due out later this summer.
