Activision coy on Geometry Wars sequel

But Australian government spills beans.

Activision has declined to comment on a possible sequel to Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.

The Australian government listed Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 on its classification website yesterday, saying it had been submitted by Activision's American office.

Interestingly, it is classified as "Multi Platform", so those of you with a PS3 may not be left out this time around.

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is my favourite game on all of Live Arcade. It's a simulation of life in space, where colourful but simple baddies pop up around you and you shoot them all to pieces, like Captain Kirk on steroids. Others may describe it as a two-stick shooter.

It was made by Project Gotham Racing developer Bizarre Creations, and appeared on Live Arcade in April 2006.

Following its success, Geometry Wars was adapted by Kuju for Wii and DS, with added mission content and more power-ups.
