Too Human absence explained

Why it wasn't at E3.

Silicon Knights' Denis Dyack says the company didn't bring Too Human to E3 because it's too busy finishing the game.

The decision was made a while ago, apparently. "The reason for this decision was that we have another event planned in the future for Too Human that we thought would be more appropriate," Dyack told GameDaily BIZ.

Not that anyone could have blamed SK for staying away after all the negative publicity that its last E3 demo attracted.

But it really would have been there, said Dyack, were it not for the other event on the horizon - "as the game is coming along very well and we are excited for everyone to see it".

The other reason we didn't see it might simply have been one of release dates. Microsoft made a point of saying everything at its press conference (except for Resident Evil 5) would be released this year.

Speaking to Eurogamer afterwards about prospects for 2008, outgoing corporate vice president of interactive entertainment Peter Moore identified "Too Human, Alan Wake, Halo Wars, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie" as five titles "that I think about for 2008".

They didn't show it because it still looks shit, if the latest Live trailer is anything to go by.

Agreed x2, that live trailer was embarrassing.

    Agreed x3

I was looking forward to this when it was announced... whenever it was... trailer is pants
  • DaM #5 5 years ago

They couldn't get an N64 to play it on?
  • menage #6 5 years ago

Ah, so everyone agrees then. I thought the trailer was an embarrassing piece of shit. The gunfire alone was so embarrassing I couldn't even begin to start.

The gunfire fight made me think of a small-dicked man turning up in a porno movie.

A lot of good vibes have come from previewers the last few months.. anyway.. the game was moved to 2008 due to the large number of AAA games on 360. Extra time is a nice luxery.

The game was moved to 2008 because Silicon Knights won't have finished it until then. Very little of this tactical placement bollocks goes on with large-scale long project original IPs.

I didn't think last year's E3 publicity was especially bad for this to be honest. But now people are keen to rip on it, since the producer has so vocally been a whiny little bitch.

No, because the new trailer sucked ass.

I remember there were loads of pissing on Crackdown preview, being very disappointing and so on. Look how it turned out!

Yeah, not proven guilty or innocent, the jury still out until we get our hand on it and know for sure whether its stinker or not.

Speaking of MIA games, where was GTA running on the PS3?
  • Avaloner #13 5 years ago

I quite liked the trailer. Cannot wait to see the game.
  • The-Bodybuilder #14 5 years ago

Agree. The LIVE trailer was quite pants, especially the bit where he ran with the sword on the ground. Looked very gay.
And atleast they've stopped refering to them as gods. Makes the game more marketable.

I still have hope for this. I mean, it's gonna be 4-player co-op on LIVE, in an action adventure.

    >"I remember there were loads of pissing on Crackdown preview, being very disappointing and so on. Look how it turned out! "

Exactly. I firmly believe that SK will deliver and redeem themselves.
I mean. Guerilla are getting a lot of hype for KZ2, even though thier track record is quite average.
SK, on the other hand have a brilliant track record.

    @ insane cobra

Well, now that I know all that, I think it's the coolest, most fluid trailer with the best guns ever.

Get serious, It still looks like crap.

Not saying the game will, but I wouldn't have released that trailer.

"but this is the original stuff - only told from the sci-fi perspective and slightly warped."

ehm, that's a contradiction in my book.

Either way, I'm guessing many people here haven't read the massive IGN preview of the title, when they actually PLAYED it.

Sounds like a huge scope of a game. 4 player co-op action adventure?
I too like insane corba think this will be a great game. Everyone carshed on crackdown (I'm included, to be honest), and look how that turned out?
  • Monkey_Puncher #18 5 years ago

The trailer wasn't great, but as has been said, the proper unveiling of the game on IGN earlier this year looked absoloutly awesome! Trailer or no trailer I'd be willing to put money on this game kicking a whole lot of ass when it gets released next year.

"The reason for this decision was that we have another event planned in the future for Too Human that we thought would be more appropriate,"

What, like the court hearing with Epic? They're apparently suing them because Unreal Engine 3 is hard to use or something.
