For the US this "Holiday".

Square Enix is definitely remaking Chrono Trigger for DS.

The US arm of the publisher stamped confirmation on the project and has a "holiday" release in mind. European plans are yet to be revealed, but we expect some sort of date may tumble out of E3.

Chrono Trigger DS will be refitted to make use of a dual-screen layout and those space-age touch-screen controls. Square Enix is also popping an extra dungeon in for you to explore and some kind of wireless play.

The game is fondly remembered for its outlandish success on SNES back in 1995. A grand total of 2.5 million copies were sold.

You fill the boots (probably not the Reebok Pumps) of Crono, who finds himself on a time-travelling adventure to rescue a friend while altering the past so the future works out better.

Keep an eye on that Countdown Site for the first pictures and videos.

This extra dungeon, is this in an already implemented "age" or will you be able to travel to another time as a bonus? If I remember correctly, there's more or less just one dungeon in each age, apart from the present.

Can anyone tell me whether or not Chrono Cross got released on PAL format. I've been trying to get my hands on it for the last month but all i can get is an NTSC version.

Bloody brilliant. Chrono Trigger still stands as the only Square RPG I've ever loved...it'll be great to play it again, and not on a dodgy emulator this time.

There's no information about what the dungeon is or what the wireless stuff will be, unfortunately.

And it will always be a countdown site to me, no matter what you say or do or maybe pay someone else to do.

Pumped about this! Keep your eyes on E3.

is there some sort of chrono trigger in joke with the "countdown" clock counting upwards?...i assumed at first that it was just a clock, but having never played the games being to wee at the time of release and also not in possesion of american consoles, i wasn't sure if i was missing something.
The closest i got was chrono cross on my psp with an emulator, but it was heavily borked and had no sound, and a sqaure game with no sound, just no!

I'd pay full price for a straight port of it on a home console.

To me, Square & disappointment have gone hand-in-hand for about 8 years, I don't want them anywhere near Chrono Trigger.

Make a new one as terrible as you like, fine, just don't touch the classics.
