Resi 5 demo coming to PS3 next month

Xbox 360 sampler next Monday.

Capcom has confirmed the PS3 is getting a Resident Evil 5 demo after all - over a week later than it appears on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Levels Assembly Place and Shanty Town are included, and can be played alone with a computer-brain companion or with a friend in split-screen or PSN co-op.

The demo will be available on PSN from 2nd February. The full game, remember, comes out here on Friday 13th March.

The news comes as Capcom shows an extended Resident Evil 5 CGI trailer that was chopped down for the Tokyo Game Show late last year.

    oh well better later than not at all, cheers capcom, now can you get add trophies to SF2TurboHD, so that it can be played in PAL regions please!!!!

    I have to love the bare-faced cheek of EG. I think you'll find this 'news' is only new to you guys. One or two of us pointed out that the demo was coming to PS3 in the comments thread of your 'PS3 won't get RE5 demo' story.

    Just started playing Res 4 again on the GCube, bit of a come down after playing the 360 for so long, graphics wise. Res 5 looks like it could be the best of the series so far, and 360 will be the best version.

    After playing the japanese demo (same thing that's beign released now) i'm not so sure anymore.
    Waiting for a review. After all, Burnout Paradise had a terrible demo and that turned out to be great.

    The demo will tell me whether or not the shoot without moving mechanic is going to ruin it for me. I'm already disappointed at how similar it is to res 4.

    The videos of the PS3 version during development were clearly inferior (highly variable framerates for one), but I'm sure they've got it likem ost games, where the difference is nearly nothing. Nearly.

    As for the original article kj66246 , it's linked to in this very article, but for ease of finding <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/resi-5- demo-coming-to-live-this-month">here it is</a href>. And it's still wrong.

    Capcom's multi platfom engine is one of the better ones (DMC4 anyone?) so would expect decent things on both platofrms TBH.

    theindustrialone, I bet it's really our 1st Most Wanted Game. The old style EG showed how many people wanted it, and you could work it out. Not anymore, but I'd be willing to bet EG is wrong a second time.
    EDIT: Found it!

    Combined Resident Evil 5 Most Wanted = 574
    Current No 1 (SOCOM) = 541

    So indeed, another incorrect article. Shameful.

    Just uninstall DMC4 and Lost Planet then or is that troublesome. I install the games i currently play but unistall them when im done. No problem on the 360. Is it any different on the PS3?

    Rash, I have no doubt Resi 5 will be awesome on either console, indeed recnet videos suggest fantastic performance from either console.

    As for uninstalling games, I have already uninstalled everything I don't play, but I play plenty of downloadable games and games with hefty patches and DLC. I just don't have the room. I could upgrade my hard drive, but can't be bothered. I'd rather just buy it on 360 anyway, since most of my potential co-op friends will be on that.

    More to the point, with no opinion on my part, why isn't this article fixed yet? Yes, I will go on about it like I did last time. It is the First Most Wanted Game of 2009. First. First!

    Well... it's not news, but I'm still looking forward to it... after the Super Turbo debacle, a week is nothing to us PS3 owners.... well not me, I've been playing the US version since November... but for you guys!!

    And the PS3 version will for all intents and purposes be exactly the same as the 360 version, except with possibly shorter loading times, and a mandatory install!!

    Wow, comments thread halved when I logged in. Lots of 360 trolls here then.

    It is really worth upgrading your HDD though. It doesn't take long to back up, slap in a 500GB drive and restore. Be done in a couple of hours. I went from 250GB (with 120GB used) and the backup/restore was very quick.

    Definitely getting this on PS3, just because of a more co-op friendly friends list.

    It'd be nice if it had an optional install. I like being able to install games if I like on 360, or install some games like Dynasty Warriors 6 on PS3 & possibly Genji (might be my faulty memory there). I prefer waiting the extra seconds, but I appreciate there are games out there that an extra wait would destroy the flow of the game.

    trying to find positive news on anything with playstation 3 that doesnt include some form of quote or fact or info that the xbox has beat it in some way is about as possible as the jews and muslims in the middle east having a massive " lets forget the past " party.

    its saddening that well .... you say PS3 TO GET THE RESI 5 DEMO NEXT MONTH then ruin it with " but xbox get it monday..."

    ahh EG i know your stating facts but there must be some form of news thats positive to us ps gamers.... i mean your last articale on the sony brand was .... like watching a small child getting kicked in the face knowing his has 1 arm and no legs.

    The load times on DMC4 for the 360 were reduced drastically when the game was installed.

    Anyway, the game will be great on both consoles (or crap if Capcom muck it up but I doubt it)

    So the 360 gets it a week earlier, does it really matter? I don't care, sure it'd be cool, to try it on monday, but I'd hardly call waiting an extra week a nail in PS3's coffin... I think that article yesterday blew things out of proportion, because as a PS3 owner, if the worst thing I have to deal with is waiting an extra week for a demo, buying the US SSF2THDR, and mandatory installs, then I'm really not in the slightest bit bothered. And lets be honest here, is there any proof that the 360 version will be noticably (if at all) superior?

    I'll buy Resi 5 on the same day as 360 owners, and I'll enjoy it just as much as them, and while playing it, Sony's market position won't in any way interfere with my enjoyment of the game.

    Of course if you got it on the 360, it'll load fast without the need for an install. ;)

    So you are playing the game 10 minutes earlier than any PS3 owner. What an amazing hero you are.
