Special FFXII PS2 unveiled News

Square-Enix has unveiled the new special edition PlayStation 2 that will come bundled with Final Fantasy XII in Japan - telling Eurogamer that it could make it over here if there's enough demand.

The bundle will include a copy of the game along with a charcoal black slimline PS2 sporting a special Final Fantasy symbol. Buyers will also get a vertical stand, controller, cables and a Final Fantasy XII mobile phone strap.

A Square-Enix representative told us that there are currently "no plans" to bring the special edition console to Europe. But they're not ruling it out entirely - the representative went on to say that the bundle could be released in PAL territories "if demand is high enough".

Final Fantasy XII is out in Japan on March 16, with a European release to follow later this year.

I demand it! Bring one to europe and i will buy one sony! (Apologies to the sober comments thinking this is a bad idea, but I like it, and i've still got a big PS2, so a slimming-down would be good)
Edit: (Oh, and the final fantasy 360 faceplate is a good idea too!) Microsoft/Square: I demand this also. (Well they keep asking for demands...)

Mmm... limited edition consoles... (remembers he still has his Pokemon-themed N64 boxed in the attic).

Mind you, those Potion/Ether drinks... now THAT STUFF I would buy...

I don't care if some PS2 with a stupid tatoo does not make it here but I could kill if a game does not make it to Europe (wich is released in the US already).

This is not the right thread but I am still waiting for the 'DMC3 SE European release date set' announcement. You hear me Capcom?!?

Wow, is this PS2 for Final Fantasy XII only, or will it run other PS2 games as well? I guess with Sony´s Japanese consoles you´ll never know which games it will be able to run ;)

My ZX Spectrum + 128K is a limited edition too :) ... 5 months later, Amstrad bought the Sinclair brand and all my friends had the ugly and bulky Spec +2. Some limited / exclusive editions are cool and others pointless for the money they're asking for. Cheers from Lisbon.

I won't be getting this, but if Square were to endorse a PS2 (or PS3, for that matter) with an emblem of Sephiroth on it... now that would be a good buy
