MotorStorm DLC dates confirmed

More PSN offerings incoming.

Sony has confirmed a handful of upcoming PlayStation Network dates, including those for new MotorStorm cars and courses.

According to its latest list, the new Coyote Revenge track will be available to download this Thursday, followed by two vehicle sets: one on 13th September, the other on 27th September.

Coyote Revenge is the reversed version of the Coyote track, with a couple of added twists and turns. It's also got some new bits and pieces to see as you churn up mud along the way, like hot air balloons and caravans.

We're still waiting to here exactly what will be in the vehicle updates, unfortunately, although rumours point towards two new vehicles: an ATV and a motorbike. A motorbike!

You'll also be treated to plenty of new trailers in September on the PlayStation Network, like the animated and making of episodes for Heavenly Sword parts four and five, as well as a third Lair trailer, LocoRoco Cocoreccho trailer, and InFamous trailer.

Sony Europe sticking to announced dates ?... I seriously doubt we will see this DLC in Europe on that date!

After the last week's huge PS Store letdown I'm not optimistic....
  • juho #2 5 years ago

So, is there any info on the pricing of the Motorstorm extra bits?
  • ccfb #3 5 years ago

Reversed tracks is DLC now? Wow.
  • Trendyninja #4 5 years ago

    "We're still waiting to here"

    Don't you mean "hear"?

    ;)
  • jonsaan #5 5 years ago

Any news on that DL skiing game there is a trailer for on the store? I forget the name.
  • dominalien #6 5 years ago

Motorstorm is still the most fun I've had on the PS3 so far. Good news! Prices, anyone?
  • woodnotes #7 5 years ago

    Reversed tracks? Meh.

I was hoping they'd do some new tracks that aren't brown.

    "Warhawk wasn't a huge letdown :)"

I agree... but compare what was released on the US store and the EU store last week.

And no... I can't buy stuff on the US Store with my EU registered credit card.

    @woodnotes - Difficult when a game is set in a desert. :)
  • aidey6 #11 5 years ago

Hope this does not cost gamers anything, I am looking forward to this

PSN = DLC for rubber band driving game; trailers of TBA games; trailers of Sony movies; few (very) and average XBLA-a-like games.
    Pass.
  • Garulon #13 5 years ago

"Nice try, but Super Stardust is better than anything on XBLA. "

Except for Mutant Storm and Space Giraffe, both of which beat SS hollow.
  • Darren #14 5 years ago

Hey, in case any PS3 owners have missed it, the new v1.92 firmware is out which adds auto-shutdown for controllers AT LAST and numerous other improvements including Flash support for XMB wallpapers, a faster browser and improvements to PSone/PS2 games compatibility.
  • Darren #15 5 years ago

P.S. Does anyone know why the US PSN gets free game wallpapers for Heavenly Sword, Resi Evil 5 and Warhawk but the European one doesn't? I know you can download them using a US account, which I have done, but that's not the point. Surely they don't have to localize those? /rolls eyes

I think the ATV and Motorbike are actually included with Coyote Revenge. At least that was the impression I got.
  • oreillymj #17 5 years ago

Where's the BTTF DeLorean that was shown in the Motorstorm dev video on the PSN months ago?

  • JDub #18 5 years ago

What IS this big fuss about Space Giraffe?!?

I mean I like Jeff Minter (old skool) and all, but come'on!!

  • skx #19 5 years ago

How about a update that speeds up the car-selection-screen loading times???

Am I the onlyone who thinks that those loading times are way too long for just a carmodel? Sux!!
  • xyuppiex #20 5 years ago

WHERE IS THE GOD DAMN SKATE DEMO!!????

    Jesus, bring it already.
  • DanC89 #21 5 years ago

I assume that the one ATV, and the one Motorbike will be free..right?!?
  • Darren #22 5 years ago

@skx - Yeah, the car selection loading times are quite frankly ridiculous. If any game needed to use an HDD cache file it's MotorStorm... odd that it doesn't really as the devs could have easily cached the vehicles and loaded the tracks from the game disc.

"What IS this big fuss about Space Giraffe?!? "

Agree... SG is way hypet and overrated.

I was really looking forward to it but what a big letdown it was.
If SG was from anybody else than Jeff Minter, the game would never have gotten all this attention. As a old C64 fanboy, I really respect good ol' Jeff, but when will he start making "innovative" games that aren't another version of Tempest?

Live Arcade have the overall best offering (most games), but SSHD is better than any single Live Arcade game.
  • oreillymj #27 5 years ago

Ahh, so the truck and ATV that are part of the new Coyote revenge are visible in this video

...and the unlockable extra vehicle when you get 5 golds is the DeLorean from Back To The Future.

It's at 1m24s in the video.
  • aidey6 #28 5 years ago

I am d/ling the V2.0 update, but it is hardly flying down and I am on a 20Meg connection....

PS I hope the "Purchasers of ‘Coyote Revenge’ can now race this track in Online and Time Attack.

Purchasers of Eliminator Mode will find results from this mode also contribute to their Fame Ranking." are cheap ie no more than £3
  • DanC89 #29 5 years ago

Wicked, I'll get downloading right away.
  • AOFanboi #30 5 years ago

I am wary about MotorStorm DLC - I installed the first (Time Attack) patch and after that MS kept hanging for me after vehicle selection... maybe it's better now.
  • captainrentboy #31 5 years ago

Ohhh for fuck sake, how are 360 owners not supposed to take the piss out of the PS3? News items like this make it really difficult. You get slightly enhanced reversed tracks as DLC, that's almost quite sad. :)
  • Feanor #32 5 years ago

    It's free though, right?
  • tobsen #33 5 years ago

I love Motorstorm, but since all vehicles in the same class handle exactly the same, I don't really see the point in downloading additional models, let alone *paying* for them. Or am I missing something?
