    The Beta went up this morning. By the time this article went up, I think the spaces will be gone.

    This game will be crap, 256 players, but you can only see about 16 at any time, what a joke. You might as well be playing singleplayer.

    @Negotiator

    Are you really trying to be a twat?

    Signed up ages ago, a few Beta testers on my friends list keep saying it's very good and very addictive.

    This is one of the games that makes a £250 PS3 seem alluring, and I say that as XBox whore.

    "about 16 at any time, what a joke. You might as well be playing singleplayer"

    Or a 16 player online game?

    Signed up a few hours ago, it's a competition so even if you did sign up late you have a chance of being picked. So don't be too annoyed.

    @El-dev

    "Up to 16,000 Promotional Codes will be distributed via email on a first come, first served basis. They will be sent out in weekly batches, so don’t give up hope if you don’t get yours straight away"
  • El-Dev #11 2 years ago

    Fuck, really should have read the print in on the Playstation page, just seen Competition at the top of the page. Ah well, I signed up a good while ago so hopefuly I'll get an invite.

    @ donnie

    Mate at work is a beta tester and played 256 and had no lag!! Dont judge until you play it
  • MeBrains #13 2 years ago

    there's donnie again with his retarded comments.

    How the hell do you know all these things chap?! You have not played the game and you are basing yourself on competing games which probably have very very very different requirements from the get go. The main idea here was to cater for 256 concurrent players. If they got this far into development, I - for one - am supposing that they met the requirement and feel confident to go into beta - towards laglessness when gold. If devs would be thinking like you, we would still be playing PONG!

    2nd: team play. There's so many games which thrive on team play, I do not get what the hell you are trying to say. What's their names again?

    3rd: what the hell is this crystal clear in-game chat remark about?! Has it anything to do with the game in itself?! It would be like me saying "MAG will be great, because it will run on a free, wireless connected network on a console which is not bound to break". That is utter nonsense.

    Did you band your head on the abortion bucket?

    You really are a homunculus cock
  • NotSoSlim #15 2 years ago

    @ donnie

    Yea i get that yet you are saying it wont work. You have not played it yet people who have have said no lag just bugs. End of the day its your opinion but i will take my colleagues take after playing with 266 players as gospel..for now at least
  • dither #16 2 years ago

    Shit, just signed up. Hope I'm not too late to be in the first batch of invites sent out :(
  • MeBrains #17 2 years ago

    donnie: and again I ask you "how do you know"? it is not because other FPS's fail, that this one will in that regard. It's been designed from the ground up to go for 256 players. If it were not feasible, it would have been canned. It is not. It is in beta. The devs feel confident it will work. I am giving it the benefit of doubt atm and will look forward to actual reviews, as well as the months trailing release...

    as for the "objective based MP" and the "it won't work". Same thing.

    it sounds like you are afraid of some sorts that this game would turn out to be good. why would that be?

    Google Planetside, donnie.
  • Bigglesworth #19 2 years ago

    Just because it worked in the beta, doesnt mean it will at upon release when millions are on psn

    Not so. With the additional user load the system may lag if, for some reason, industry-standard scaling policies aren't implemented, but the basic mechanics that allow 256-player games to work (as they obviously do in beta) won't be affected.
