Killzone 2 hits one million PSN players

Leaderboards point to high uptake.

Killzone 2 has now logged more than one million players, according to the official leaderboards (thanks PS3center).

The PS3-exclusive first-person shooter was released just two months ago on 27th February, and has since broken the one million sales threshold worldwide, having sold over 600,000 units in the US in the two days at the end of February and then March combined.

Sony plans to continue supporting the game online with DLC, the first bundle of which - the Steel & Titanium Map Pack - is due out today for USD 5.99. For that you get two new maps.

Check out our Killzone 2 gamepage for more on that and the game itself.

    I still prefer good ol' COD4, but I could see why people would enjoy this. Though those figures don't account for people that play, hate it and never return.

    Good to see this doing well. It's great fun online. I haven't been playing anything else lately. I'm also a huge COD4 fan and have managed to adapt to this game nicely.

    @DFawkes. The same thing about the figures can be said about any game, of just Killzone.

    I've forced myself away from this for a bit. When Warhawk came out I ended up sinking all my time into that and not playing anything else (like Oblivion and Uncharted), I could see the multiplayer addiction levels kicking in on this. Especially when striving for those Valour ribbons.

    I got to try and pull myself away from KZ2 as I need to put some time into Bioshock befor the sequal comes out.

    KZ2 is an astounding on-line game. Will definately be getting the DLC when it's out in the UK.

    @Dave52

    Uncharted 2 is now Multiplayer. Only thing that can make my day better is hearing BioShock 2 is multiplayer. Multiplayer competitive with BioShock weapons and abilities (they could divide that up so that players can only choose one/two weapons and abilities) would rock!

    @man.the.king - We live in hope...! :) I am very excited about Drake2, the first one was superb - and the multiplayer looks ace!
