Konami strengthens security after user information accessed

The hacks keep on coming.

The hacks keep on coming: this time it's Konami's turn.

The Japanese company reported over 35,000 unauthorised logins from nearly four million attempts to the Konami ID portal, used by Pro Evolution Soccer players, using IDs and passwords leaked from an unnamed third party.

Konami said names, addresses, dates of birth, telephone numbers and email addresses were accessed and possibly taken.

Now, it has requested all those with a Konami ID change their password. Affected customers have been sent an email.

Konami said as a result of the breach it had strengthened its security and raised its monitoring level. It's also taken measures to ensure the IDs and passwords used for the unauthorised logins are redundant.
