GT5 gets free Christmas DLC
New cars available for limited time.
Gran Turismo 5 developer Polyphony Digital is getting in the Christmas spirit and offering free DLC for the game over the festive period.
According to Japanese site 4gamer, as translated by 1Up, three cars - a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640, a BMW M3 Coupe and a Jaguar XJ13 – will be available for download between 24th December and 31st January.
Sony hasn't confirmed whether the offer will extend outside of Japan but all three cars are currently available via other means. The Lamborghini and BMW came as bonuses with the game's Collector's Edition while the Jaguar was a promotional extra available via the Gran Turismo 5 Facebook app.
The oft-delayed but ultimately rather brilliant Gran Turismo 5 finally left the garage last month. Earlier today, the game's creator Kazunori Yamauchi revealed he was planning to add more premium cars to the current roster.

It's all manipulation. And ofcourse they're talking about supporting GT5 with dlc prem cars - those cars are already done..and waiting on a 6/12month dlc release calender. Just the way things work now.. only becomes abit of a piss take when you've waited 6yrs for a game and only 20% of the cars on the disc have had full effert put into them...and the game still needs work due to graphical glitches ect

20% of the cars on disc? So by your calculations, they'll be releasing about 9000 cars as DLC?

- No he said 20% of the cars have had full effort put into them. Which is true.
If your going to attempt to exaggerate someone's comment to take the piss out of them at least make sure you read it properly.

All premium. If you have the game, get the Jag through Facebook now.

I have both, the M3 is nice, but aside from the chrome paintjob, you can just buy and tune the regular M3 Coupe instead.
And the LP 640 for some reason has pretty dreadful handling, making the LP 670-4 a vastly better in-game choice if you want a great Lamborghini.

Free DLC, I don't mind as I don't have either of those cars, I have a few premium cars and for the life of me, I prefer to drive from the bumper. Inside the car is to busy and blocks out a lot of my view, looks great but when I'm racing it's not used. Physics above all else, interaction with the cars themselves, sure visually I would love the game to look perfect, but I'll live with it as every car run on the same physics engine. Plus you can kill the nannies and make the track edge grip realistic and have a go at driving, nothing to save you but your skill.

No they didn't. They came with the Signature Edition. And they were sold as 'exclusive' to that AUD$300 edition. Less than a month later, they are just given away. Nice way to treat the fans.

edit: @Astrocreature: Really? That's disappointing. I mean, it's one of the cars the CPU always uses. That event is really starting to bug me lol.

These cars are in the game, these ones have an exclusive paintjob which makes them special for some people.

"Then why are you here Wookie....."
Dr_Wookiee is here because he is a 360 fanboy who would have been all agog with praise if this had been on the 360, and even more if so if this had been a 360 exclusive - then he would have noticed only the positives of the game! As proof, I would direct your attention to game# 11 and #12 on his game collection - FM2 & 3, which he rated 9. Also note that he has taken the time to get 48 out of the total 50 Achievements for FM3 on his gamercard page.
In conclusion, Dr_Wookiee is a jealous 360 fanboy showing symptoms of the sour-grapes-syndrome
