Lara Croft online co-op delayed again
Five DLC packs revealed.
Square Enix has delayed Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light's online cooperative function for a second time.
It was originally supposed to be available for the game's August Xbox Live Arcade release, but was delayed till the release of the PlayStation Network and PC (via Steam) versions, which launch on the 28th September.
It's now been delayed again, this time to the useful "a later date". We'll pop that in the diary.
We've asked Square Enix if this delay relates to all versions of the game or just the PC and PS3 versions.
More usefully, Square Enix has detailed the downloadable add-on packs it has in store for the game.
From October to December five packs will be made available to download across all formats.
The first three expansion packs feature "a combination of all new puzzle, exploration and combat experiences" and new areas to explore.
The final two are playable character packs, "offering gamers the chance to experience the entire adventure without Lara Croft and Totec and instead with some other well-known videogame characters..." Cryptic.
Keza MacDonald reviewed for Eurogamer, and gave Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light a stonking 9/10. Check the first 15 minutes below.

I bought this and have been playing co-op with my missus. She loves it. We play games together. THEREFORE THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER! Actually, it is really good. I'm surprised EDGE gave it a 6, and that EG's review was much more spot on.

Looks good though, reckon the local co-op could work well for me and the lady and online co-op for me and a mate. The straightforward looking co-op mode reminds me of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on PS2.
Is 'new character' and 'costume pack' DLC popular?

They won't be getting any of my money until they get the online co-op working.

Ever heard of context? Or were you saying that ironically? If not... you should have been.

That is ridiculous, but the belligerence is pretty funny, I give you that.

So what you're saying is, only larger, big budget games deserve scores of 9/10?
Crazy mindset you have there.

Of course we do; up to a point. But let's not get carried away - a game must be a lot more than good value for money to justify such a very high score; at least it does in my book. I don't think it would be difficult to argue this in detail, but I'm not one for lengthy online debates so I'll agree to disagree, if you don't mind? However, I will say that harsh though it is: Edge's 6/10 is far easier to justify than EG's 9.

Sorry, but that's an naive remark. Are big budget movies automatically superior to low budget ones? Of course not. Some of the best movies ever made are little "indie" productions, but in my opinion Tomb Raider the game does not match the criteria of any number of those movies. It's a good, solid game, but it's not one point away from full marks. Budget has bugger all to do with it.

Because they couldn't be bothered finishing it, I couldn't be bothered buying it. That's fair.

You can get for example prince of peria forgotten sands for £ 12 - does that now make that a 9/10 ?
