THQ asks for "patience" on Metro bug
Working with MS to fix DLC problem.
THQ has asked Metro 2033 fans to be patient while it works out what caused a bug that stops Achievements unlocking properly.
Earlier this month THQ released the Ranger Pack on Xbox 360 adding a new harder game mode. Unfortunately though it also made it impossible to redeem Achievements to do with the DLC or the whole game, depending on which forum you believe.
"We understand some people are still experiencing issues with achievements unlocking in the Metro 2033 Ranger Pack DLC," the publisher said in a statement carried by Joystiq.
"We are currently working with Microsoft to ascertain whether this is due to a code related issue with the DLC itself, or an error in the Marketplace process whereby the DLC was added to Xbox Live Marketplace before the new achievement data was added - this exact issue has happened to other games in the past, but we need to be sure that this is what's happening here.
"We realise this is frustrating for those of you who have been waiting to enjoy the Ranger Pack DLC, and we ask for your patience as we try to pinpoint the exact issue and solution."
In the meantime you could always play Metro 2033 again. We rather liked it - it's a gritty, atmospheric shooter set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow subway system.

Buying DLC for "small" games like this is a way to tell them I'd like them to do more. It's not like they are asking a very high price for it (in fact it's the lowest possible price).
That's what always bugged me about Valve (which I love so it's not meant as a stab). They too wanted to do "free" downloads but report that Microsoft won't let them do it. But then when they "do" release DLC instead of the lowest possible price, they go for the one slightly above that. At least this is asking the lowest possible price. Anyway, small diversion.

Nice to be kept in the loop, at least. It's been two or three weeks of silence.

@muscleblade, true! For me however it is a chance to help support the developer, since I bought the game at a discount (which doesn't help them that much I suppose) and I was very much impressed with it.
It doesn't hurt them either: they sell the game at a price to retailers and they get the same amount of money per copy regardless of whether or not the retailer chargers you €20 or €200.

Gee, why on earth would you want to play a game if you're not getting achievements. DAMN YOU, THQ, FOR RUINING SO MANY LIVES.
