Takeuchi not involved with Resi Evil 6

Producer confirms plans to move on.

Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has confirmed he's got nothing to do with the development of the sixth instalment in the series.

"I'm not involved in Resident Evil 6," he told 4Gamer (as translated by Andriasang). "There's actually a number of things I want to do."

What sort of things? "If I say it like that, it might be taken as 'next game,' but before reaching the step of making a game, we - Japanese developers - have a lot of things that we must do," Takeuchi said. "To begin, I have a number of things I'd like to do related to Capcom as a whole."

He did promise some interesting announcements which will "surprise many people", including titles he's been working on with Dead Rising producer Keiji Inafune.

Takeuchi's comments regarding Resi 6 should come as no surprise, however - he said he didn't expect to work on the game almost a year ago.
