Red Faction: Armageddon delayed

Volition's sequel pushed back a week.

Forthcoming action sequel Red Faction: Armageddon will now be released on 10th June, publisher THQ has announced, one week later than originally planned.

Kotaku broke the news, but no reason was offered for the delay. We've asked THQ for an explanation and will update if it responds.

A demo for the game, announced earlier this week, will still go live on 3rd May for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Eurogamer's Tom Bramwell got an early glimpse at the Volition-developed follow-up to 2009's Red Faction: Guerrilla earlier this year.

"Armageddon seems unlikely to undo the series' reputation for breaking things and having a lot of fun in the process," he wrote, "and for many – us included – a more compelling narrative core sheathed in destructible playthings would be enough to tempt us back for another go-round."
