Effects pedal for Guitar Hero?

The Xbox 360 Guitar Hero controller - based on the Gibson Explorer - features an as-yet unused port designer for use with an effects pedal peripheral.

But don't take our word for it - feast your doubting eyes on photos of the instruction booklet for the US Guitar Hero II on Xbox 360, which confirms it.

Whether the effects pedal will be released to work with Guitar Hero II in future seems unlikely (the manual says "Feature currently unavailable"), but there's obviously some future-proofing action going on there, and it certainly speaks positively to RedOctane's intention of continuing the series on the Microsoft platform.

Mother-company Activision was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

Guitar Hero II is due out for Xbox 360 this Friday, 6th April. If you want to see the pedal port for yourself, why not enter our competition and win the guitar along with game and Xbox 360 console? We would. But we can't, obviously.
