Dead by Daylight is getting John Carpenter's Halloween DLC today

The evil is gone!

Asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight is adding a new DLC pack today based on John Carpenter's seminal slasher film Halloween. Just in time for the holiday!

Available for $6.99 on Steam, the add-on lets players assume the role of Michael Myers, the Captain Kirk mask-wearing, knife-wielding silent stalker of the 1978 film.

The Halloween DLC also adds Jamie Lee Curtis' bookish scream queen icon, Laurie Strode, as a playable survivor, along with a new map based on the film's suburb of Haddonfield, Illinois.

"We're absolutely psyched to introduce 'John Carpenter's Halloween' characters in Dead by Daylight" said publisher Starbreeze's COO and head of publishing Mikael Nermark, Starbreeze. "It's been a blast seeing the characters come to life with Behaviour's talented team making the outmost of the rich lore available."

The question is, how will Dead by Daylight's Halloween content stack up to its similarly asymmetrical Friday the 13th rival due next year? Or, perhaps a better question is when will Nightmare on Elm Street get the contemporary licensed video game spin-off it so rightfully deserves?
