SouthPeak confirms Section 8 date

Plus: 360 MP demo due this month.

SouthPeak has told Eurogamer that Section 8 will launch simultaneously for PC and Xbox 360 on 4th September.

Preceding that will be the European beta, which begins Monday 10th August on PC and later this month on Xbox 360 - exactly when, however, depends on Microsoft.

Section 8 is a futuristic first-person shooter focused mainly on multiplayer, although a short story campaign does feature. The big idea is to give players jetpacks and have them bounce around battlefields, scoping out the terrain and action and tactically choosing where to land.

The game has "a stack of interesting ideas" and enough polish to warrant a proper look. That's what Kristan thought, anyway, when he got his hands on the game last week.
