Sony is resurrecting MediEvil for PlayStation 4 in 2018.

A 4K remastered version of the cult classic PlayStation game was confirmed at the end of Sony's PlayStation Experience keynote.

MediEvil is an action-adventure hack and slash first developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Cambridge for the PSX. The game is set in the medieval Kingdom of Gallowmere and revolves around protagonist Sir Daniel Fortesque.

"Hot on the heels of this year's smash hit Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, we're making another PlayStation fan dream come true: a proper, PS4-grade resurrection of the original MediEvil just in time for the game's 20th anniversary," Sony chief Shawn Layden said.

That's all we have for now. Expect more details soon, Sony said.
