High up on the furthest mountain in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine there's a secret. You can't get there normally because it's out of bounds. But if you use a mod to run the game in debug mode and unlock the game's camera then you can teleport Geralt there. Then you'll see it.

The secret is a painting on an easel stood between two pillars. And the painting is a photograph of the CD Projekt Red team - The Witcher 3 team - that made the expansion.

It's a simple thing but a fitting farewell for the final, remarkable piece of content for a remarkable game. Perhaps it wasn't intended for the public eye; perhaps it was hidden for developers who knew how to find it - an insider memento if you like. Then again, I'm sure CDPR is well aware anything hidden in games is usually found.

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion came out mid-May, more or less a year after The Witcher 3. And it's great, as our The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine review will tell you. We've got a guide for The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, too.

Blood and Wine costs 15.99 normally but is a smidge cheaper in the Steam Summer Sale. You'll need The Witcher 3 base game in order to play it, which is currently half-price on Steam, or you can buy game-plus-both-expansions in one bundle for 36.84, which is nae bad at all!
