Earth Defense Force DLC released

Two weapon packs bring the pain.

D3Publisher has released two weapon packs for Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.

The DLC features the Pounds of Pain! The EDF Battle Armor Weapons Pack, and the Death From Above! The EDF Jet Armor Weapons Pack.

They're each 240 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and $2.99 through PlayStation Network.

Pounds of Pain! includes 15 weapons. The EDF’s customisable Battle Armour gets eight, including the C9 Turnburl x Shotgun and Brux Fab Chowbrow Grenade Launcher. The Trooper and Tactical Armours receive upgrades including the RLF -17 Floorboard Rocket Launcher and the VanSnaster SpreadBurst Assault Rifle.

Death From Above! Also has 15 weapons. The Jet Armour gets eight weapons, including the Plantain Ind. Torchee Sniper Rifle and Brewbreaux 08b-m Missile Launcher. Trooper and Tactical Armours get the El Gigante Rocket Launcher and the Wallagis 1776 L Missile Launcher, among other gubbins.

Christian Donlan smashed an 8/10 in Eurogamer's Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon review.

"This is a smart discount blaster to dive into for a few hours every few months, and to have nearby whenever you get bored of more complex entertainments that come with characters and plot twists and levels that aren't all largely interchangeable," he wrote.
