Two Worlds X360 delayed

Mysteriously slips.

The Two Worlds official website has revealed that the Xbox 360 version of the game will no longer be available with the PC copy on 9th May.

No reason could be given, but assurances were made that the console adventure was of the highest quality. Isn't that our job?

"As yet, no new release date has been announced. Unfortunately, the reasons for this delay cannot at this time be given by the publishers," the website reads. "Internal development of the console version ran like clockwork and final product quality itself leaves nothing to be desired."

Two Worlds is a sprawling RPG from Reality Pump, which preaches freedom of choice in player actions. The storyline revolves around a complicated tale of ancient deities and new horrors that put one of a pair of worlds in imminent peril. It will also feature a fancy MMORPG mode, so that you can adventure with hundreds of other players.

Pop over to our Two Worlds gamepage for the latest screenshots and media.

Alternatively quest over to the official website for more information.

Shame! I was really looking forward to a game I had until now forgotten existed.

I shall try and get over it by forgetting I remembered the game existed.

They want to release it on both consoles at the same time.

Did'nt even realise it was suposed to be coming out next week anyway... I thought it was a June release (Play.com still have the 360 version down for release 29th June). I think they need to do a better job of marketing this game, it has me interested, but with such little info coming our way it could easily fall under the radar.

Agree. And the news that is out there is kind of confusing... eg latest stories covered it's mutation into a more online heavy focus but whether it's a proper MMO or not now I haven't a clue. Not even sure whether the single player game is still sufficiently there to be interesting... All very confusing.

After getting badly burnt by the significantly unfinished RPG efforts late last year of Gothic and NeverWinter Night sequels, be holding back a while before getting this anyway.

Heh, totally off topic and I can't possibly back this up - but the person in charge of the development of two worlds is a lass which took me by surprise, she was also pretty hot in person.

Her name was Alexandra, can't recall her surname so no google image search for me :( was like 'constand' something, i'm crap with names.

    This is an MMO?

Thought it was a SP RPG!
  • Pirotic #9 5 years ago

Thats what the development team said funnily enough.. aformentioned hotty decided to change genre half-way into development :D

just to clarify, it was an mmo, now its single player but with online modes.

Just spotted the following article from EDGE, posted up by next-gen.biz:

    ]http://ww w.next-gen.biz/index.php?option...[/link]

It's all about Two World's multiplayer game, and called "Turning an RPG into an MMO". Maybe that explains the delay away?
  • Mordum #11 5 years ago

So the single player campaign is unchanged and intact as always, but the MMO features have been much more fleshed out, explaiing the delay, is that correct?

Just jumped ti the site, then saw an ad for some conquest/mythodea thingy.

    logged out soon after.

This game is still here? Who actually cares anymore? Not me - Mass Effect here I come.
  • immateriaux #14 5 years ago

... well, off you go then.
  • Razorus #15 5 years ago

There's no MMO mode for the 360 version, unless they're adding it now (which might explain the delay). Instead, all you get is an 8-player dungeon romp.

I was very up for this but kinda put off by recent mag comments on the latest build which suggested that while it was a playable game, it's severely lacking in polish ...
  • mkreku #17 5 years ago

The only German developed game I've ever played that didn't lack in polish was Far Cry. If Two Worlds is as unpolished as Gothic or Gothic 2, then it's OK with me. I love those two games! But it could very easily turn out to be as "unpolished" as Boiling Point was when it was released. Horrible mess (although Boiling Point turned into a really good game after the last patch..).
