Ninety Nine Nights II in June in US

Konami looking at September for PALs.

Update: Konami has told Eurogamer that it is looking at a European Ninety-Nine Nights II release in September.

Original story: Konami has announced a 29th June release for Ninety-Nine Nights II in the US.

North Americans can also try a demo for the hack-and-slash sequel.

Like Dynasty Warriors, Ninety-Nine Nights II pits one exaggerated fighter against a zombie-like horde. Over-the-top special moves and combo-counts rule the day, as do a melodromatic plot and skimpy battle wear.

Improvements in the sequel include co-op, both local and online.

We're checking with Konami about European plans.

The first Ninety-Nine Nights attracted loads of attention for being an Xbox 360 launch game. Those pretty graphics and screens full of baddies were very next-gen. Head over to our Ninety-Nine Nights review from 2006 to find out more.

Pretty graphics and a screen full of baddies seemed to foretell what a machine what Xbox 360 was capable of.

Ninty nine nights was not a 360 launch game.

Looking forward to it. I kind of enjoyed the first even if it was a bit of a grind to get to the FINAL, final stage and some of the plot stuff didn't fit together properly.

picked up the first one recently for a fiver as I'd always thought it had got a bad press, some of it is fun and it still looks pretty good in certain areas, but other parts are just really painfully bad, character movemen speed being the worst... still I'll give this new one a go. Anyone know when the demos going to be available in Europe?

All remember about the original was the strange need to just make sure I could get as many bodies flying as possible. Got very repetitive though.

Just checked out the demo on the US store. I will say I didn't finish it.

Yeah, in Europe we always have to wait, you guys are always a bit ahead of us :))) Though I am on a trip in states in June so going to get my version as well. I think in EU it will be out in July, at least it should. Meanwhile I've already downloaded some great trailers from this file search engine rapidok

Best regards and thanks for the post.

I guess this counts as a great time to finally plug the first one in.

The problem with these sort of games is if there is no strategy involved or thinking required, all that is needed is button mashing, then the game becomes very repetitive and the WoW factor wears thin.

Fancy graphics, characters onscreen and flashy effects won't save this!...deeper gameplay is needed!!!
