Halo 3 rumours quashed News
Xbox 360 News by Ellie Gibson
So much for the rumours about Halo 3 being called Forerunner - turns out it's all a hilarious April Fool's joke.
It all started with a post on the Xbox.com forums by someone calling himself DM Duo Maxwell, who claimed to have transcribed an article about the game which appears in the forthcoming issue of Game Informer magazine.
His post said that the game will feature "huge persistent worlds" built around a modified Halo 2 engine, that Master Chief would, star, and that there would be a co-op mode for up to four players.
But it's all nonsense, according to a forum post by a bloke from Bungie: "We can't smack 'em for an April Fool's gag. Not like we never did any." Ah well.
