Factor 5 finishes Lair
US version out soon.
Factor 5 has finished work on Lair, with the North American version currently in manufacturing ahead of its 14th August release.
That's the word from associate producer Ryan Hamlyn, anyway, speaking on the official US Sony blog.
"For us, there's still a bit of work to do, as we have localisation to finish up for Europe, Japan, Korea, and more, which will all hopefully follow very soon," he added.
"Once those are out, our leaderboards will truly be global, and then we can see once and for all who the best Lair players are out there! The gauntlet has been thrown, and North American players are getting Lair first, so don't give that advantage away." Yeah cheers.
He means "buy it", obviously, which is what we'll probably end up doing in the name of telling you whether it's any good. Aren't we great? If Lair is, its gamepage will be the place to find out.

Sad thing is, for us in Australia I've recently realised its about $20 cheaper to buy it in from overseas. Heck, if I get a copy from Singapore it comes in at nearly half the price we pay for a local Aussie copy.
If you Europeans think Sony hate you, you should be in Australia.

Trust me they hate us both equally. 425 pounds is 987 Australian Dollars. We get shafted on an equal opportunities level by Sony.
Only the region free aspect of the PS3 games (A master stroke on their part) eases the pain. No more waiting for the "European translation" version of a game that is out 6 months earlier in the states or Japan.

More so with the relevant TV standard having next to bugger all impact - as can be illustrated by the import copies running without a hitch! lol
And do not go on about it being a Europe thing, we are seperate countries (as someone quite funnily pointed out yesterday). Has anyone in the UK or OZ ever been massively influenced by the advertising in France, Germany, Belgium etc?
You'd think Europe spoke one language and that UK, USA and OZ all spoke different languages.
I feel that if games were released in the UK, USA & Oz at the same time the "spastic" shambles may very well have been nipped in the bud a lot earlier.

Sounds a bit weird, but that's the only way to keep these ghames interesting. Otherwise it's turn shoot pass turn shoot pas. Gets boring really quickly, hell I almost fell asleep during the trailers. Looks good in places, horrible in others.

My sentiments exactly. I think on paper this looks and sounds excellent, but from the videos I've seen the execution may be somewhat lacking.
I'm tentatively interested so far, but will definitely wait for some reviews to filter through.

Well it wouldn't have made much sense to divert Factor 5's resources away from a game that's a month off launch to make a demo for E3.
Speaking of demos I'll be keeping a close eye on the US PSN, because they said they'll launch a demo after the game is released.
