Bungie shows off new Halo 3 map
The level formerly known as Purple Reign.
Bungie lifted the lid on Halo 3 map Assembly during last weekend's Penny Arcade event in the US.
The level, titled Purple Reign, is based on a Covenant Scarab factory and was previously expected as part of the Legendary Map Pack in April.
However, Bungie still has no estimate of when to expect the huge, multi-tiered and bowl-shaped Assembly level. We do have the first batch of Assembly screenshots, mind you.
Halo 3, released September 2007 to huge critical acclaim, is still the second most popular game played on Xbox Live.
Bungie had enjoyed the top spot for a brief period recently until Call of Duty 4 retook the crown.

They'll still probably charge a million points for it though.

Out of 18 of the maps currently available for Halo 3, exactly 4 (Avalanche, Blackout, Cold Storage, and Last Resort) are remakes. And the last map was free.

It's much more memorable than "Assembly" anyway.
