Bioshock targets June

Potentially in Europe too.

2K Games aims to release Bioshock in the US and Europe this June, although the US date is more certain than the European one, inevitably.

That's the latest from the publisher after a poster on an Internet forum, claiming to work for 2K, stated that the game would be out then.

As well as being one of the most interesting looking games due out in 2007, Irrational's title is also a huge hope for Microsoft - for whom it's a console exclusive.

The game's also due out on PC, where it ought to invite similarly excitable noises among the system's cadre of former Looking Glass devotees.

For videos, previews and, er, swearing, check out the Bioshock gamepage.

A little worried about the lack of Europe information but 2K are usually quite nice to our region.

360, as my laptop would probably just laugh if i tried to load it!
  • UncleLou #7 5 years ago

    PC (have no 360, either).
  • Inquisitor #8 5 years ago

360, my lappy won't run it. Even if it could I still think I'd get it for the 360, bigger screen, better gaming atmosphere and all that.

Such a shame Looking Glass disappeared. They were so consistently amazing! System Shock remains the only game I bought 3 times.

I don't know the details though, is Irrational pretty much still the same people under a different name?

I'll get it on the 360 if I happen to buy it. I'm yet to get excited about it though.

    360 for me.

I thought it was out this week, as that was when Play.com had it due for untill it changed last week.

That late? I expected it sooner. :( Oh well, they should take as long as they need for a game this brilliant.

EDIT: I don't know yet, maybe pc, maybe 360. Depends on what me mates will do I guess. Isn't vista required for this game?

    360 version for me.

Anyone heard if there is multiplayer of any sort in this title? System Shock 2 had a co-op option and was pretty damn good fun (and suited the character upgrading system really well).

I know the two titles aren't really connected other than in a very wooly inspirado kind of way, but I can but hope.

    "Console Exclusive"

I see what they did there.
  • Krusty #17 5 years ago

    Hmm, 2K Games.
They're distributing content on Steam these days. I wonder if this'll go on there too?

I'm torn between PC version for mouse/kb and better graphics or 360 for erm, achievement points and convenience. Umm, think I've just answered this one myself.
    FPSes on consoles blow goats.

Had nosey into this. No multiplayer, which is as expected really. :(

    @Krusty

For me, convenience carries more weight than it clearly does for you. I've slowly slipped into console gaming over the last few years and now I don't play games on my PC at all. The idea of sitting on an office chair in my study in front of a monitor, instead of a comfy sofa in my living room in front of a big TV holds no appeal anymore.

Now, if your PC is sat in your living room with a feed into your TV, then we can compare apples with apples.

As for the GFX. How much better will they be? If your PC is top end then it will likely be a bit ahead, but frankly does that matter?

For example, I played HL2 on both PC and XB and of course I could tell the difference and the PC build looked a bit nicer. But when I was running about shooting head crabs on either system, the graphical difference was absolutely the last thing on my mind. Overall I enjoyed the XB version more because my sofa is comfy and my TV is nicer than my friend's monitor (my own PC almost certainly won't run HL2).

same thing is happening with me kangaroo. i seem to want to play the 360 more than I do the pc. not sure why, could be the whole comfy chair thing . Also, I can't be arsed to upgrade my pc yet again only after spending a grand on it to find it out of date already.

so, Oil mostly be purchasing this on 360.
  • kangarootoo #20 5 years ago

The cost was a factor me too. The last GFX card I bought cost more than my 360 (or my XB when I bought that for that matter).

"What's all that about" I said to myself some time later.

June? Crap, need to sort out getting a new PC sooner than I thought.

"A little worried about the lack of Europe information but 2K are usually quite nice to our region. "

Not one 2k games has been region coded so far so who cares just import it and save some money

Anyway if theres any difference in the dates it will be minimal
