Activision unveils new Transformers game
It's set on Cybertron and coming in 2010.
Activision has confirmed a new Transformers videogame is currently in development.
Transformers: War for Cybertron is set on the titular characters' home planet and tells the story of how our heroes came to arrive on Earth. It's being developed by High Moon Studios - previously responsible for The Bourne Conspiracy game.
"For the first time Hasbro is working with Activision to drive the Transformers fiction forward into new story arcs, demonstrating pivotal moments in Transformers history that defined who they are," said Hasbro's Aaron Archer. "This remarkable video game helps us to tell a critical event in Transformers lore that will be used as canon for future storylines in a way we could have only dreamed of a few years ago."
In fact there will be two storylines. The Autobot campaign tells how the heroic robot/caravan types tried to save their planet and the Decepticon plot is about being evil and that. For the first time in a Transformers game you'll be able to enjoy team-based online co-op, plus a variety of head-to-head multiplayer modes.
Expect "a sci-fi art style" and "all-new visualisations of the iconic Transformers characters in their original Cybertronian forms".
Transformers: War for Cybertron is in development for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and DS. Here's hoping it marks an improvement over the last game, eh?

However much it galls me, I might have to bust my 'no Acti titles' rule, depending of course on the substantial quantifier that it isn't shit. If it plays as good as the Melbourne House PS2 title, and not the bloody appalling movie tie-ins, then I might just have to bite.
Loves me some giant stompy robot action.

All they have to do is make a freakin game with the original Characters with 80's hair metal music.
There. I've just made you millions. Just send me a cheque for 10% in the post.

Agreed, all I want is a game with the 80's robots (and soundtrack!). It amazes me no one has actually done it TBH.

Do you know why they won't do that because it would be awesome. I also partly do not want them to try as even given that the old cartoon movie is still better than the new ones there is no way they could make the game that would do it justice, well ok maybe it Melbourne House were on it and on par with the PS2 offering.

There is some serious guitar on that album. Even the main theme has a face melting solo.
Well if you're gonna ride Danno...Ride in style...

Perhaps they'll transform into space dumper trucks and space police cars.

just make a unicron game where you get to eat planets n that?
or sky lynx, or the aerial bots or metroplex or make a co-op game where you can transform into the ones that fit together to make one big one.
seriously though, like you people have said before, there is so much TF lore to make a game out of...why cant they get it right? G1/2 = the golden years. new sci fi stuff that fans cant relate to = big fail.
dare to be stupid
