Eve developer responds to outcry
"We are listening to you, we have heard you."
Arnar Hrafn Gylfason, senior producer of Eve Online, has responded to the ongoing dissatisfaction of subscribers in a blog post published yesterday evening.
"Over the past days and weeks, CCP has been doing extensive and intense introspection and revitalization," he wrote.
"The result of this is a refocusing and reprioritization on a scale unheard of within our company.
"These are indeed defining times."
Eve players have become disgruntled in recent months over the implementation of the Incarna expansion, the introduction of micro-transactions, and the perceived neglect of the so-called "Flying in Space" component of the game.
"We will reveal more during the coming weeks," Gylfason continued. "As certain details are prone to change, we want to make sure we have absolutely concrete information to give you. You've often told us that we promise too much and deliver too little, and this time we want to be certain that doesn't happen.
"We are listening to you, we have heard you, and plans are already in motion."
He ends by telling players to "watch this space" - a tongue-in-cheek reference perhaps to player demands for CCP to refocus its effort to the core of the game, rather than the recently introduced avatar content.

The only person I've seen from the Eve EG steam group actually playing Eve, are some of the Australian guys. I think Evo and Rak may still be there. Not sure about Dodgy and Smuggo.
Just bad timing for the corp. Bad alliance placement, real life issues for many members, summer lull and none of us enjoying the incarana update... all combined pretty much killed the game atmosphere.

Having said that it's a lot closer to the mea culpa we should have from Hilmar than I expected and I'm glad that I at least made the effort to buy some PLEX with isk and use them keep my characters training.
