She's flameous.

The red headed female Commander Shepard has been voted the default female appearance in Mass Effect 3.

The result was announced on BioWare TV at PAX this weekend. Special guest Jennifer Hale - the voice of 'FemShep' - joined BioWare TV for the reveal.

EA has released official artwork of default FemShep. We've posted it below.

The eye-catching poster of the new FemShep, revealed on stage at PAX, is not yet freely available.

BioWare, following fan fervour, held two rounds of open voting to decide upon the appearance of the default female Commander Shepard. The first round whittled down appearances; the second round chose hair colour.

The default FemShep will appear on the Collector's Edition Mass Effect 3 box.

It was pretty crafty of them to have two blond hair options to split up the votes

But really, her hair style or color doesn't matter, what bothers me is that she looks way too young. It's hard to see her as the strong and charismatic leader she's supposed to be.

I don't think age really matters... after all she's been through we should be amazed that she still have skin and hair, let alone how wrinkled it is.

Should've gone for blonde. Fits better with the detached iciness, makes her stand out more (both kelly and gabrielle already were redheads) and there will be more blonde women playing the game than reds (and I thought sex neutrality and speaking to the female demographic was the main reason they wanted to have a postergirl shepard). On the other hand, most people playing a girl in the game are probably guys anyway, going for the red bombshell.

@hiddenranbir As far as I'm aware there is no 'canon' Shepherd (unlike say KOTOR 1 and 2). Bioware have gone out of their way that any mention of Shpeherd in novels etc. is gender neutral and have stated on several occasions that there is no canon Shepherd (and that default != canon). It will be interesting how the get round this in the new games outsied the trilogy but as of right now there is still no canon Shepherd.

That's right, that particular screenshot is from ME2; the default female model but with black hair instead of the standard red. Here's hoping ME3 will also allow to import the character model from the previous games.

I use the default FemShep but with pink hair, makes it funnier whenever I make her act agressive
