A Wii version of Modern Warfare 3 launches alongside the already-announced PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version, publisher Activision has confirmed.

Publishing exec Eric Hirshberg made the announcement during an investor call today, explaining it's releasing the game on Nintendo's system "so as not to leave any of the community out of the excitement."

Hirshberg didn't reveal who is responsible for porting it over, though Treyarch was behind the Wii versions of both Black Ops and Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare 2 never made it to the system.

The latest entry in Activision's all conquering FPS series terrorises cash registers the world over from 8th November.
