    80 quid? Fuck off!!

They're charging an extra 40 quid for some skins, a CD,cards, art book and a plastic badge?

The augmented edition of Deus Ex: Human revolution gives you actual playable DLC plus a stack of weapons/ gear. Making of film, soundtrack, motion comic, trailers etc. plus an art book. How much? I'm getting it from ShopTo for 45 quid!

As a massive 40k nut who's had space marine pre-ordered at shopto since it was announced, I can safely say fuck off. I'd rather spend the money on models and Gaunt's Ghosts novels.

I'm a huge 40K fan so the extras appeal to me, but £80 seems like too much for a special edition. Then again, I suppose that's the RRP and most of the retailers will be selling it for less than that by the time the release date comes around.

This hype train reminds me of DA2 hype storm with countless DLC items and whatnot which basically means that the devs already know this will sink so they try to gain as many preorders as they can. (I'm going to be rated in to oblivion I know)
I'm not a warhammer hater nor am I an oldschool board game maniac I just think from the gameplay videos and pics this seems rather repetitive and boring.
I would love nothing more than for this to be a great game but somehow it just doesn't seem that way to me.

On a side note a real RPG would be awsome in the warhammer 40k universe not an MMO ah wishful thinking at best I know.

Having a 40k "special" edition w/o a model in the box is a special kind of fail.

    And i'm a 100% thq fanboi.

I'm a ridiculous 40k geek and positively 'oooooh'ed at the news of a special ed, but at £80 for what is essentially junk, it can fuck off.

The game looks pretty cool, but don't think the collectors is worth the money.

I remember a time when limited editions of games were limited. You know...not every game seemed to get one.
  • anomagnus #12 1 year ago

Do people understand the term 'collectors edition'. Its for collectors. You don't have to buy it, you can buy the normal version if you want. This fake outcry over an optional costs is pathetic.

    No Steelbook = no thanks.

The soundtrack, artbook and a free copy of Darksiders are all pretty cool - Don't really need the other stuff, it's just clutter! And at £80, that's some expensive clutter!
  • Synthesis #17 1 year ago

DLC is a plague on gaming, as are restricted extras designed to make an overpriced 'collectors' edition seem more worthwhile.

Such things should just be in the game anyway.

Although I'd much prefer getting a Lamenters skin, cursed chapters FTW - although they're all mostly dead. Loved my Lamenters campaign mod for Dawn of War.

    /self promotion shame mode engaged

I love the new gameplay of this game, I am sure it will look fantastic!!

Another bad collectors edition, it's not surprising any more. But the pre-order bonus with Game looks rather tempting I'll admit.
  • chrisola #21 1 year ago

so a game base on a line of models \ miniatures can't you give you anything better than a plastic badge? Nice.

These limited edition collectors editions aren't really limited or collectable though are they? I was in HMV in cheshire oaks the other week and they still had the COD remote control car & night vision bundles and KZ2 and KZ3 bundles among others.

    LIMITED TO 3 MILLION BOXES
